About Tony and Shelley Roberts and Their Southern Farm

How Mossy Oak Farm Started Making Memories

In 1990 Shelley, bought the property from a timber company that is now known as the “Horse and Barn Venue.” The company had left a mess, but Shelley could see the vision. Shelley grew up in Savannah in the city life but longed for a horse farm of her own. Soon after, Shelley met Tony, and together they built a land-clearing business. They started working on the property to have it prepped for a horse barn and several other buildings to accommodate operations.

Once the horse barn was completed, they started on a new venture. In 1999, Tony and Shelley bought the property across the road that is known as the “Pond and Cabin Venue.”  They dug a pond and had an early 1800s cabin moved onto the property, which was originally from Springfield, GA. Thereafter, they completed a total remodel of the cabin to fit its current aesthetics and theme.

Finally, in 2003 they built their forever home together. Tony and Shelley had a successful land-clearing business for many years to come. One day a nice group of people approached them on their property and asked if the property was a wedding venue. At first, Tony and Shelley brushed off the idea, until one day Shelley had the inspiration to make it just that. Tony and Shelley worked alongside and included their two children to have their first wedding in 2015. It has taken off ever since and has now become their main focus. In their spare time, Tony and Shelley spend time with their grandchildren, enjoy playing the banjo and bass, and traveling to the mountains.
